Bespoke Semitransparent 15mm Thickness Acid Etched Glass
In order to achieve an etched surface in glass, whether for artistic effect, or simply to create a translucent surface. Usually acid etching is done using hexafluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) which, when anhydrous, is colourless. The acid is prepared by dissolving silica in a mixture of hydroelectric acid (hydrochloric acid), quartz powder, calcium fluoride, and concentrated sulfuric acid derived after heating.
We do the same treatment on 15mm float glass surface to get 15mm acid etched glass. Including: 15mm acid etched clear float glass, 15mm acid etched low iron float glass; 15mm acid etched clear tempered glas, 15mm acid etched ultra clear toughened glass, 15mm silkscreen acide etched glass ( which is one side silkscreen printed, the other side treated as acid etched).
